What you will learn

Integrative health education. Spectacular views. This is the Study Tour that surpasses all expectations.

The Tuscany Experience delivers immersive holistic health education in one of the world's most beautiful and delicious regions. You'll focus on three key subjects and each session is hands-on building a lifetime of memories.

Botanical Medicine

Watch essential oils emerge from copper stills at a working Tuscan distillery. Learn to evaluate quality, assess safety, and apply aromatherapy with clinical confidence. Leave with custom blends and the science-based protocols to use them.

Mediterranean Nutrition

Walk vineyard rows with a viticulturist. Taste olive oil still green from the press. Understand polyphenol bioavailability, gut-brain connections, and longevity research not from slides, but from the soil where this food grows.

Mind-Body Medicine

Soak in thermal waters used for healing since Roman times. Learn the published research behind hydrotherapy, heat exposure, and vagal tone, then feel it in your body. Leave with practical protocols for stress and burnout you have experienced firsthand.

Your instructor

Dr. Jessie Cavanaugh will be there the entire six days

Harvard-trained. 30 peer-reviewed publications. Founder and Primary Investigator at Nutraceuticals Research Institute. She has led international study tours for seven years and remains personally present for every session, every meal, and every conversation.

She does not appear on day one and disappear. She walks through vineyards with you, discusses research over dinner, and answers questions that most workshop formats never reach. That is the access this format provides.

You will not just hear her lecture. You will learn alongside one of the field's leading researchers in a setting that does not exist elsewhere.

Michelangelo's David, Florence
Florence has always been where science and art share the same room. Monday's session starts at the world's oldest pharmacy. It has been open since 1221.
Frequently asked

Questions about the Tuscany Experience

Who should attend?

Everyone! Healthcare practitioners: naturopathic doctors, MDs, DOs, PAs, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, herbalists, nutritionists, acupuncturists, and health coaches. Parents, spouses, health enthusiasts. If you want evidence-based integrative medicine education in an immersive format with direct access to a leading researcher, this program is for you.

Will I have time to explore Florence?

Yes. The schedule includes built-in free time, free evenings, and one dinner intentionally left unscheduled for personal exploration. This is not a rushed itinerary. Florence rewards wandering and you will have time for it.

I am traveling solo. Will I be comfortable?

Absolutely. Most participants attend solo. We offer roommate matching for double occupancy, facilitate group connections before the trip, and create a welcoming environment from the first evening. The small group format makes it easy to connect quickly with people who share your professional interests. Participants from our past trips who began as strangers have since cultivated life-long friendships.

Do I need to speak Italian?

No. All instruction is in English. Our guides are bilingual. You will be fine.

What is the physical activity level?

Mild to moderate. Florence involves walking on cobblestones. The Chianti day involves gentle vineyard walking. You will accumulate steps each day at a comfortable pace. If you have specific mobility considerations, contact us before registering.

How does payment work?

Early bird pricing of $3,995 is available through October 31, 2026. Regular pricing is $4,395 after that date.
