Six days in Florence. Thirty CE hours. The experience of a lifetime.
Most continuing education happens in conference rooms. This one happens in a working Tuscan distillery, a Roman thermal spa, Chianti vineyard rows, and the world's oldest pharmacy. Taught entirely by Dr. Cavanaugh in an intimate small group setting.
April 18 to 23, 2027 · Florence, Italy · Limited group size
Integrative health education. Spectacular views. This is the Study Tour that surpasses all expectations.
The Tuscany Experience delivers immersive holistic health education in one of the world's most beautiful and delicious regions. You'll focus on three key subjects and each session is hands-on building a lifetime of memories.
Botanical Medicine
Watch essential oils emerge from copper stills at a working Tuscan distillery. Learn to evaluate quality, assess safety, and apply aromatherapy with clinical confidence. Leave with custom blends and the science-based protocols to use them.
Mediterranean Nutrition
Walk vineyard rows with a viticulturist. Taste olive oil still green from the press. Understand polyphenol bioavailability, gut-brain connections, and longevity research not from slides, but from the soil where this food grows.
Mind-Body Medicine
Soak in thermal waters used for healing since Roman times. Learn the published research behind hydrotherapy, heat exposure, and vagal tone, then feel it in your body. Leave with practical protocols for stress and burnout you have experienced firsthand.
Six days. Five nights. All inclusive.
Settle into the boutique hotel in central Florence. Welcome prosecco, group introductions, evening session on stress physiology and burnout. Day One is focused on helping you slowly immerse yourself into the luxuries of Italian charm with an open air educational session with stunning views and an indulgent Italian dinner.
Visit the Santa Maria Novella, the world's oldest pharmacy, operating continuously since 1221. Today this historic location still curates fragrances, herbal remedies, and healing products, just as it has for centuries. After a traditional Tuscan lunch, you'll enjoy a deep dive into hormonal health, neuroplasticity, and cognitive aging. The history of botanical medicine and modern science converge in Florence like nowhere else.
Full day at an artisan distillery. Olfactory science, chemistry, safety, and clinical applications. Trauma-informed and nervous system-aware use of scent. Custom blend creation using NRI's published research protocols. You leave with a custom blend and the clinical rationale for application
Our guides will whisk you away to the stunning vineyards of Chianti for private vineyard tours and exclusive tastings of freshly pressed olive oil and a range of Italian wines. The morning begins with a private tour of a historic winery, followed by a picnic lunch in the picturesque vineyards. After a brief stop for gelato in the charming town of Greve, you'll enjoy another vineyard tour, complete with a tasting of neighboring wines and olive oil.
Historic spa experience in thermal waters used for healing since Roman times. Hydrotherapy research, heat exposure, circadian rhythm, and vagal tone taught through experience. Rest as medicine. The day concludes with a large farewell dinner and some free time to explore the city after hours. You won’t want to miss the breathtaking views of the Duomo lit up at night.
The final day of the trip focuses on the food of Tuscany. You'll explore Florentine food markets with a professional chef, learning more about the heritage of Tuscany's prized cuisine. Then you'll be taken to a learning kitchen for a private cooking class featuring some of the foods you just sourced at the market. Depart with practical tools, clarity, and colleagues who have shared one of the most immersive CE experiences in integrative medicine.

Dr. Jessie Cavanaugh will be there the entire six days
Harvard-trained. 30 peer-reviewed publications. Founder and Primary Investigator at Nutraceuticals Research Institute. She has led international study tours for seven years and remains personally present for every session, every meal, and every conversation.
She does not appear on day one and disappear. She walks through vineyards with you, discusses research over dinner, and answers questions that most workshop formats never reach. That is the access this format provides.
You will not just hear her lecture. You will learn alongside one of the field's leading researchers in a setting that does not exist elsewhere.
