What participation involves

Seven surveys over twelve weeks. That is it.

There are no lab visits, no travel, and no clinic appointments. Once you are enrolled, your study supplement is shipped to your door. You take it once daily and complete brief symptom surveys at scheduled intervals. Each survey takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes.

Baseline

Complete your first survey before starting the supplement. Takes 10 to 15 minutes. Establishes your starting point across five symptom domains.

Week 1

Brief check-in survey. How are you feeling one week in? Takes 10 minutes.

Week 2

Second check-in survey. Same questions, tracking your trajectory. Takes 10 minutes.

Week 3

Third check-in. The early timepoints are the most important in this study. Your responses here matter.

Week 4

One month in. Survey captures your experience at the one-month mark across all five symptom domains.

Week 8

Two-month check-in. Longer interval between surveys from here. Takes 10 to 15 minutes.

Week 12

Final survey. Your 12-week endpoint data. Completion triggers your compensation and gift package.

Your responses are the data. There is no blood draw, no physical exam, no clinic visit. You are contributing something no lab test can capture: what this actually feels like from the inside.

Frequently asked

Questions about the study

What is the botanical blend I will be taking?

The study product is a once-daily botanical blend. Because this is a blinded study, we do not share the specific ingredients until after the study concludes and unblinding occurs. Full ingredient information is provided at the end of the study.

How do I know if I am getting the active product or placebo?

You will not know during the study, and neither will the research staff. This is called double-blinding. It is what makes the results scientifically valid. Both the active product and the placebo look and taste identical. At the end of the study, all participants are unblinded and told which group they were in.

Do I have to live near Huntsville, Alabama?

No. The Signal Study is fully remote. You can participate from anywhere in the United States. The supplement is shipped to your home and all surveys are completed online.

How long do the surveys take?

Each survey takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes. They include validated symptom scales used in clinical research. The questions ask about your symptoms, wellbeing, and daily functioning across five domains.

What happens if I need to withdraw?

You may withdraw from the study at any time for any reason without penalty. Compensation is provided at study completion. If you withdraw early, you are not compensated, but you are under no obligation to continue and there is no negative consequence for withdrawing.

Who do I contact if I have questions during the study?

Every participant is assigned a research team contact who is available throughout the study. You will receive direct contact information at enrollment. Questions are answered by a real person, not an automated system.
